Seit 1949 spielt in Muotathal die Theatergesellschaft regelmässig volkstümliche Theaterstücke, und Muotathal ist inzwischen weit über die Kantonsgrenzen hinaus ein Begriff in der "einschlägigen Szene" geworden.
