Hallwyl Castle (Schloss Hallwyl)
Schloss Hallwyl, Seengen
Where culture meets nature
Hallwyl Castle is one of the most important moated castles in Switzerland. The Lords of Hallwyl founded the castle complex in the late 12th century. Exhibitions and audio tours document the building’s history and provide an insight into the lives of its former owners, the Hallwyl family. The lives of the peasants and subjects of the Hallwyl dominion are also covered. Meanwhile, the laments of the prisoners ring out from the dungeon tower.
