The Brazilian mezzo is an internationally active opera and concert singer. She has performed in Germany, France, Italy, England, Japan, Brazil, Colombia, Russia, Czech Republic, Venezuela and Switzerland.

Kismara Pessatti is a Brazilian singer, which dedicates herself to the contralto and dramatic mezzosoprano repertoire. In the last years she became one of the Brazilian female singers with a most growing international recognition.

She studied Acting and Singing in her hometown Curitiba and finished her studies at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" with Prof. Norma Sharp and Julia Varady in Berlin and afterwards at the International Opera Studio in Zurich, where she was ensemble member for three seasons.

Since then goes Kismara Pessatti her own way and it all has more than paid off: Erda in Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelungs in Essen; the leading part in Orfeo by Glück in São Paulo; Annina in Rosenkavalier in Tokio; Nutrice in L’Incoronazione di Poppea in London; Mary in The Flying Dutchman at the Wagner Geneva Festival; Neris in Medea by Cherubini at the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro; 1. Magd in Elektra at the Gran Teatro La Fenice (Veneza) and at the Theatro Petruzzelli (Bari); Anna in Les Troyens at the Amazonas Festival in Manaus, Schwertleite in Walküre at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Aksinja in Lady Macbeth from Mzensk at the Opernhaus Zürich as well as at the Zürcher Festspiele.

In addition to her big success on the opera stage the Brazilian Mezzo is a concert singer in great demand. She gave her debut in summer 2012 with de Falla’s El Amor Brujo at Concertgebouw Amsterdam and she’s returned there for the 1. Symphony by Hartmann. In the concertante performance and live cd recording (Pentatone) of Wagner’s Ring with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Berliner Philharmonie conducted by Marek Janowski she sang Flosshilde and Schwertleite. In Bogotá with the Philharmonic Orchestra Bogotá she sang Berio’s Folksongs, the 2. and the 8. Symphony by Mahler, at the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival Rossini’s Stabat Mater. Last year she sang the Wesendoncklieder by Wagner in Henze’s version with the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève. Before that the Mezzo sang Mahler`s Symphony No. VIII under Lorin Maazel and Peter Kuhn and was regularly engaged by Helmuth Rilling for the International Bach Academy. Concerts with him include J.S. Bach's Mass in B Minor in Caracas, St. John Passion in Moscow, Christmas Oratorio at Liederhalle Stuttgart, Handel's Messiah in Essen, Beethovens Missa Solemnis in Prag, Requiem by W.A. Mozart in Baden Baden and Elijah by Mendelssohn in Milan.


At the moment performs the artist the allegorical figure of Love in Romeo et Juliette at the Theatre Sankt Gallen, a successful staged version of the dramatic symphony by Berlioz. Future projects include, among others, her debut as Maffio Orsini in Lucrezia Borgia ( Donizetti ) in Sankt Gallen, Mary in The Flying Dutchman in Luxembourg and Caen, and as Duenna in Betrothal in the Monastery by Prokofiev at the Theatro São Pedro, São Paulo.
