Renowned and celebrated pianist Rudolf Buchbinder will be performing two late key works by Franz Schubert. The four Impromptus op. 899, composed in 1827, will be followed by the Sonata D 960, which is considered one of the most beautiful piano sonatas ever written. The Sonata takes the listener through a range of emotions, from resignation to contemplation and affirmation.

Buchbinder is particularly known for his interpretations of Ludwig van Beethoven's works. He has performed all 32 piano sonatas by Beethoven cyclically all over the world and has further developed the interpretation of these works over decades. In recognition of Beethoven's 250th anniversary, the Vienna Musikverein dedicated a cycle of Beethoven's five piano concertos to Buchbinder in the 2019/20 season. He will perform these concertos as a soloist.
