Route: Romont – Billens – Hennens – Lovatens – Curtilles – Moudon – Bressonnaz – Vucherens – Les Cullayes – Chalet à Gobet – Epalinges - Lausanne

Romont - Hennens (via Billens)

We leave Romont at the train station on the main road and follow the Lucens signpost. At the next roundabout, we follow the Billens signpost. In Billens, we meet the Way of St. James again (Way of St. James signpost) by turning left at the "de l`Union" inn towards Hennens. Now we always follow the signed Way of St. James.

Hennens – Moudon (via Lovatens – Curtilles)

We turn right onto the field path above Hennens. Shortly afterwards, we ride left towards the transmission mast, then go right down to Lovatens. It continues on a good little road down the steep slope to Curtilles. At the Fédéral restaurant, we turn left and reach the Broye, which we follow until Moudon.

Moudon – Vucherens (via Bressonnaz)

After visiting Moudon, we start on the main road at the shopping center and follow the blue Lausanne signpost on the main road. West of Moudon, we follow Bike Route 44 (signpost: bike route no. 44) to Bressonnaz. Here we leave the bike route and turn right after the bridge to the main road to Lausanne, which we follow on a slightly elevated bike path to the exit with the Mézières signpost (blue signpost towards Mézières/Vucherens). At the Syens junction, we cross the signposted Way of St. James but continue on the country road to Le Closy. Here we turn right at the "des Trois Suisses" restaurant and follow the white Vucherens signpost on the Route de Village to the information board

of Vucherens.

Vucherens – Lausanne (via Les Cullayes - Mollie Margot – Chalet à Gobet – Epalinges)

Behind the info stand, we push the bike about 200 m up the steep path. After the climb, we ride right to the small intersection where we turn left. Before the chapel, we turn left into Route de la Grotte. At the next fork, we go right into Route de la Main de Fer. Now we are back on the signposted Way of St. James. At the end, we cross Route de la Croix d’Or, continue on Route des Brigands, and cross Route de l’Ecorcheboeuf. From here, we follow the signposted TCS bike route E (signpost: bike route E) and leave the Way of St. James. Bike route E leads us through Les Cullayes to Mollie–Margot.

Here we leave TCS bike route E and turn right at the Le Chasseur restaurant onto bike route 44 (signpost image C). We follow this to Chalet à Gobet. At Chalet à Gobet, we cross the large parking lot and continue on bike route 44 (signpost: bike route 44 - direction Lausanne) to Lausanne at Place de la Riponne.

Before reaching Place de Riponne, there is the possibility to reach the cathedral via a short climb. From Place de Riponne, we reach Place Bel-Air via Rue Neuve, Route de la Tour, and Rue Mauborget turning left. From here, we push the bike over Avenue du Grand Pont where we have a wonderful panoramic view of the cathedral. At Place de Saint Francois, we enter Rue du Petite-Chêne, located in the pedestrian zone, leading us to Place de la Gare.

Stage 15

Route: Lausanne - Morges – St-Prex - Buchillon – Allaman – Perroy – Rolle – Bursinel – Dully – Gland –Prangins - Nyon

Lausanne - Morges

We leave Lausanne at Place de la Gare via the railway underpass on Avenue William Fraisse. At the roundabout, we go straight on Avenue de la Harpe down to Ouchy, where we turn right onto Avenue du Rhodanie. Then we follow bike path no. 1 (signpost: bike route no. 1) to Vidy. In Vidy, we meet the signposted Way of St. James (Way of St. James signpost) again and follow it via St. Sulpice to Morges. This section requires considerate behavior from both cyclists and pedestrians. Along this section, we experience wonderful scenery where it might also be worth pushing the bike for longer stretches.

Morges – Nyon (via St-Prex – Buchillon – Allaman – Perroy – Rolle – Bursinel – Dully – Gland – Prangins)

We leave Morges on bike route 1 (signpost bike route no. 1) and follow it to the entrance of St. Prex. There we meet the signposted Way of St. James (Way of St. James signpost) which leads us to the city gate. After visiting St. Prex, we leave the town and ride on bike route no. 1 via Buchillon to Allaman. At the beginning of the town, we turn left onto the signposted Way of St. James, which leads us via Perroy (white signpost towards Perroy) to Rolle. At the entrance to Rolle, we turn right onto the main road and stay on this road, which also has a bike path outside Rolle. At the Bursinel signpost (white signpost towards Bursinel), we turn right.

We ride again on the signposted Way of St. James (Way of St. James signpost) to Dully, where we turn right. After a short descent, it goes left into the forest, where upon exit we turn left again. A field and forest path follows that is mostly well rideable except for small sections where the bike must be pushed. We follow the signposted Way of St. James to Gland train station and from there further over Prangins to Nyon.

Stage 16

Route: Nyon – Crans – Céligny – Bossey – Founex – Commugny - Coppet – Versoix – Geneva - Swiss border

Nyon - Céligny (via Crans)

We leave Nyon at the train station on the signposted Way of St. James (Way of St. James signpost). Behind Nyon, the path runs about 2 km on forest paths through Bois Bougy but is rideable. We follow the route via Crans to Céligny.

Céligny -– Versoix (via Bossey – Founex – Commugny – Coppet)

At the exit of Céligny, the Way of St. James turns left. The signposted Way of St. James leads on an unridable meadow and forest path. We take a different route and stay on the country road where after about 700 m we turn left. After approximately 600 m, we turn left onto Chemin Chenevière and meet the signposted Way of St. James again at Château de Bossey. We follow this to Founex. From there, we ride on the signposted Way of St. James to Commugny. It is worth making a detour to the old Roman town there. From Coppet, we then go back to the starting point. There, we follow the signposted Way of St. James through Tannay and Mies to Versoix.

Versoix - Geneva - Swiss border

From Versoix, we continue on the Way of St. James via Genthod, Chambésy, and Pregny to the outskirts of Geneva. Along the Botanical Garden, we reach the famous fountain, the Geneva landmark, on the lakeside promenade. We cross Rue de Mont Blanc, Quai des Bergues, and then come via Pont de la Machine straight onto Rue de Commerce. Afterwards, we turn left and immediately right into Rue de la Rôtisserie and Rue de la Madeleine. From there, it goes right onto Rue de Perron to the cathedral.

In Geneva and Carouge, besides the Way of St. James signposts, also pay attention to the stylized shell on a blue background. We leave Geneva at the cathedral on Rue de l’Hôtel de Ville. After Place du Bourg de Four follows a sharp right turn leading us to Rue de Saint Léger at Place de Philosophes. From there, we turn right onto Rue Prévost – Martin. Then we reach Rue de la Ferme straight ahead. We turn right onto Rue de la Colline and ride left over Pont Carouge. Now we reach Place de l’Octroi and left onto Avenue du Cardinal-Mermillod. At the roundabout, we go straight and reach Place de Rondeau via Rue Vautier, Rue Ancienne, and Route de Saint-Julien.

From here we follow the signposted Way of St. James (Way of St. James signpost). We turn left into Route de Drize and shortly after right onto the footpath. After Chemin du Bief-à-Dance, we cross Route de la Chapelle and reach Route de Saconnex d’Arve where we ride to the end of this road. Then we go straight on Chemin de la Chécande to the Swiss border. Expect heavy traffic on the last section.
