Voci Luminose
Lakeside Gallery Zug, Zug
Radiant, imaginative, surprising: Voci Luminose brings together two strong artistic positions – full of colour, light and poetry. An invitation to wonder.
In the exhibition Voci Luminose, two artistic voices enter into a quietly radiant dialogue. Their language is not one of words, but of colour, line, surface and light. Both artists from Eastern Switzerland – Sabeth Holland from St. Gallen and Sonja Schmid from Thurgau – give resonance to the invisible in their works, each in her own way, united in expression.
Sabeth Holland is known for her vivid, powerful compositions. Her works pulse with joy, imagination and inner movement. Through colour, rhythm and delicate structures, she creates striking visual worlds that invite viewers into spaces between dream and emotion, between fiery presence and luminous depth. Holland paints not to depict, but to open. Her art is an invitation: to experience colour as emotion, form as possibility, and painting as resonance.
Sonja Schmid, in contrast, works with transparency, light, and the elegance of material. Using fluorescent plexiglass, she creates spaces of colour and line that shimmer, shift, and seem to move. Her installations are poetic, reduced yet intense. Lines weave across translucent surfaces, light breaks at edges, and forms overlap like thoughts. In this quiet tension lies a special strength – subtle yet striking. Schmid thinks sculpturally, composes with precision, and leaves just enough room for chance to invite new perspectives.
Both artists create works with strong presence – each in her own way. While Holland’s painting vibrates with bold colour and lively energy, Schmid’s pieces unfold through light, material and line – quietly, yet with clarity and intensity. Their positions contrast and complement each other: vibrant colour bursts meet composed transparency, expressive imagery encounters silent spatial elegance.
Thus, Voci Luminose becomes a space of encounter: between colour and form, light and line, impulse and stillness. An invitation to wonder – radiant, polyphonic and open to personal resonance.
