Walking the rye trail and experiencing it with all the senses; tasting rye bread products; “take-away treats” for everyone | suitable for young and old

In the Valais mountain village of Erschmatt, we can immerse ourselves in the living Valais tradition of rye. Visitors will learn about the rye plant in detail, and experience the journey from grain to bread: threshing and winnowing grain, grinding seeds, watching a film about bread baking, splitting bread, and tasting rye products. They will return home with many experiences and a “take-away” (give-away). Suitable for young and old.

The rye workshop is structured as follows:

Welcome and introduction
Take a close look at the rye plant
Threshing and winnowing at the barn granary
Grinding in the high granary
Get to know bread baking in a movie
End with a tasting of rye products

PLUS on July 10 and August 14: listening to Valais legends

Time: 10:15 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
