"Never before has there been a Theodorakis festival of such intensity, diversity, and artistic radicalism in Switzerland," emphasizes initiator Irina Kastrinidis (actress, author).

More than 30 artists from over ten countries – many of them from the younger generation – have engaged with the “Theodorakis universe” and developed new artistic forms that carry his work and his spirit of freedom into the present. Two premieres (work-in-progress) will take place, including a reinterpretation of the Mauthausen Trilogy, various film documentaries, and artworks inspired by Theodorakis. The festival will also feature ARTE films and previously unpublished songs by the Greek composer. Moreover, the spirit of the times – the end of World War II in Europe – plays a significant role. Long-time friend and translator of Mikis, Asteris Kutulas, will also be present.

The four-day festival is held under the auspices of the Greek Embassy in Switzerland.
